This kit works in just the same way as a chip (such as those sold by Superchips) but does not require opening of the car's delicate Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Instead the kit attaches to the wiring which is easily accessible under the bonnet - which in turn leads back to the ECU. This kit also gives you fully adjustable control of the power your car develops. This way you can have extra power when you need it and standard economy when you don't (or anywhere in between).
Position 0 - car unaffected, normal fuel consumption.
Position 1-10 for increased fuelling and advanced ignition - depending on your needs.
"Chipped" cars have more power because they have increased fuelling (more petrol entering the cylinders) and advanced timing (makes the spark plugs fire a tiny bit earlier). How does this work?
The kit works by altering the readings from an engine sensor on their way back to the ECU. These altered readings make the ECU increase the period it fires the injectors for on each cycle. The kit also slightly advances the ignition timing so the spark plugs fire ever-so-slightly earlier which gives the fuel more time to burn.
Is it safe for my engine?
The kit is very safe when installed and setup as per the instructions. This kit makes exactly the same changes to the fuelling and ignition as a remap or a custom chip would. The fuelling and ignition changes always stay within the manufacturers recommended tolerences so no damage can occur.
Is it easy to install?
The kit is very easy to install and should take about 30 minutes to fit and setup.
